Costume of the upper Bystrytsia Nadvirnianska River valley, Ivano-Frankiwsk Oblast, Ukraine

Hello all,
I thought of including this bit in the last article, but it did not seem to fit. So I am including it here, even though it is quite small.

If you go upstream from Nadvirna and its surrounding villages, following the Bystrytsia River, you will eventually get into the Carpathian Mountains. In this valley, the costume is transitional between the Boiko and the Hutsul, according to Roman Reinfuss, the famous Polish ethnographer.  He took just a handful of photos here.
These first photos are from around the village of Maksymets', off the left bank of the Bystrytsia.
Looking at the two women above, we can see skirts and aprons, not the double apron of the Hutsuls, but the embroidery looks more Hutsul, with the zigzag toothed edges of the designs.
You should be able to click on the images and expand them.
This region is not included in the official Boiko map, and I think that I agree, these seem more Hutsul in general.

This photo was taken in the village of Bystrytsia, further upstream.

And this photo was taken even further upstream in the community of Dovzhynets'.

And that is all that I have from this area. If anyone has more information, let me know.

Thank you for reading.
